Dan Stebbins is a photographer from Bozeman Montana.
Originally from Virginia, he moved to Southwest Montana
in 2001.  During the summer, Dan works as a Park Ranger
Naturalist with the National Park Service.  Living and
working near Yellowstone allows him to spend time
photographing many places in and around this beautiful
area of the country.  Dan is a avid outdoorsman, spending
time hiking, fishing, backpacking, snowboarding, and
hunting with his black powder rifle.
In 1998, Dan graduated from George Mason University with a BA in
History.  During a road trip in 2001, he stopped in Yellowstone and began
volunteering with Yellowstone's Aquatics Resources Department.  Dan
then spent March of 2002 doing field work tracking with the Yellowstone
Wolf Project.  He still considers that one of the highlights of his
Yellowstone career.  The following summer he was hired as a Park Ranger
Naturalist and has spent the last 5 summers working at the Fishing Bridge
location.

During his six total years in Yellowstone, Dan has been able to spend
countless hours photographing the wonders of the world's first national
park.  There are images of wildlife, geysers, and waterfalls to find in the
galleries.  Given Dan's love of history you may also find images of
historical buildings in some of the galleries.  As a history major at George
Mason, Dan's focus and passion has always been the Civil War.
Battlefields like Antietam, Manassas, or Gettysburg have always been
some of his favorite haunts.

Dan and his wife could be described as "National Park junkies".  As a
result, they spend a great deal of time in these beautiful areas all over the
country.  Both of them work during the summer in Yellowstone and
therefore it's no surprise that most of the images that you will see here are
from this area, but keep your eyes peeled for other familiar landmarks!
Other parks that they have frequented over the past few years have been:
Death Valley, Grand Teton, Glacier, Zion, Canyonlands, Arches, and Bryce
Canyon.  At this point, who knows where they'll end up next!

If you are interested in contacting Dan, or in asking him if he has any tips
as to how to grow a rugged manly beard like the one he sports in the photo
